- His Dark Materials (The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, The Amber Spyglass) written by Philip Pullmann
This is the story of a small girl who sets out to rescue a dear friend and ends up saving the universe. First of all, the story is breathtaking in its variety of characters and story development. In addition this book was recorded with a complete theater cast which heightens the atmosphere considerably. Definitely a must-hear.
- Angels and Demons written by Dan Brown
This story took me completely by surprise, the pace is so fast and the story so addicting that I couldn't put it down.
- The Dark Tower written by Stephen King
Finally King's epic is completed and what a story it turned out to be, a fast moving story with a huge surprise ending. Even though the last volume is the saddest of them all it is worth to finish it.
- The Fifth Elephant written by Terry Pratchett
It's one of the finest Pratchett stories. A fantasy story with a lot of funny scenes and many references to modern life.
